Gulf of Kutch — operational baseline
Repeating Sentinel-1 coverage of Kutch / Kandla. Pakistan-side approach, Indian EEZ boundary, Kandla port traffic — all on one revisit cycle.
## Coverage - **AOI**: 68.0°E – 70.5°E, 22.0°N – 23.5°N - **Sensor**: Sentinel-1 IW GRD (10m pixel, dual-pol) - **Revisit**: ~6 days, ascending and descending passes - **Geofences**: Indian EEZ, Kutch territorial waters ## What's been validated here - Calibrated SAR (Rust speckle filter) → YOLO detection → CFAR thresholding - AIS correlation against rolling 30-day window from AisStream - Dossier generation (PDF per detection) - Multi-sensor confirmation hooks ready (Phase D: VIIRS / Landsat / S2-glint) ## Smuggling-skiff caveat (honest) Sentinel-1 IW at 10m resolution sees larger fishing dhows and merchant traffic reliably. Small (sub-10m) smuggling skiffs are at the edge of detectability — flagged as a Phase 2 target requiring commercial high-res SAR (Capella / ICEYE / Umbra) or fine-tuned models trained on Indian Coast Guard-supplied ground truth.
